The Inclusion Network and ViewSource Media team to build a more inclusive world.

March 17, 1997 - Cincinnati, Ohio - The Inclusion Network and ViewSource Media launched a site on the world wide web in hopes to build dialogue, raise awareness and encourage inclusion of people with disabilities locally and the world.

The Inclusion Network, an initiative of the Manuel D. and Rhoda Mayerson Foundation, is a grassroots, collaborative effort of individuals and organizations interested in promoting the understanding and practice of inclusion of people with disabilities in the Greater Cincinnati community. Through networking, public relations efforts, the Network hopes to make Cincinnati a better place to live for all people.

A major priority for 1997 was to develop a presence on the world wide web. At the beginning of the year The Inclusion Network selected ViewSource Media as its new media partner to achieve that goal. Just this week Inclusion Network (http://www.inclusion.org/) and ViewSource Media unveiled a web site in hopes to build awareness of the Network and issues concerning inclusion as well as build membership and give the general public easy access to the Network and its support services. "We want to continue our strong bond with the people and organizations in our community. A major objective was not only to deliver quality information in an engaging manner about the Network and disability issues, but encourage involvement and build dialogue with our own community and the world," stated Griff Hogan, Director of the Inclusion Network.

Among some of the things found on the Inclusion Network web page is: Information about the Network, its history and structure, current information on Network activities, announcements, information and links to other resources, the latest reports from the Networks Working Committees, stories of inclusion, membership information and application, member organizations, sponsors and request for information and or volunteers, and more planned over the coming months.

"It was tremendously rewarding to be working with the people from the Inclusion Network and joining them to build awareness of such important issues in our community and society. The Internet provides us with the perfect medium to not only encourage and promote ideas of inclusion but to accelerate the breaking down of barriers and opening doors to a more inclusive society world-wide for people with disabilities," said John Harris, Founder and Creative Director of ViewSource Media. "Although we have launched the first phase of the Network site we are excited about additions and features planned in the coming months." The Inclusion Network will soon be launching The Inclusion Marketplace, where people with disabilities who are seeking employment can submit their profile and resume for companies looking to hire qualified and talented individuals with disabilities. "This represents one of the many examples of how The Network is putting inclusion into practice for the community and using the web site to achieve those goals."
