ViewSource Media creates Web and eCommerce site for WGUC.
(Cincinnati, OH -- June 3, 1999) -- ViewSource Media, a Cincinnati-based
integrated marketing communications firm specializing in online branding,
design, marketing and eCommerce, recently launched a record-setting new web
site for WGUC (Cincinnati's Classical Public Radio). Combining art and
technology, ViewSource Media designed a beautiful, very functional - and fund
raising - internet site.
The new site, www.wguc.org, provides a current listing of what is playing on
WGUC, information on composers or contacting WGUC and, in support of the future
of public radio, a vehicle for submitting pledges electronically. In fact,
Challenge '99, WGUC's Spring Membership Campaign, more than doubled the
national record for support dollars generated by any public radio station
collecting online pledges.
"WGUC not only has a website that is unsurpassed in the public radio system,
but also a new source of station revenue," said Chris Phelps, V.P. Marketing
for WGUC. "The site's secure online pledge form, a first for WGUC, generated
over 100 pledges for Challenge '99. This response exceeded our most ambitious
expectations."

ViewSource Media's design and programming team was engaged to develop a
completely new online image for WGUC that would reflect the high standards and
sophistication of the station as the voice of the arts in the Greater
Cincinnati area. The goal was to create a new web presence as a more unified
extension of the daily programming and broadcast for regular listeners of the
station. Another goal was to create a new way for the community to show their
support by pledging through a secure online environment. ViewSource Media
developed an online pledging system which dynamically presented gifts available
to receive at the supporters specified pledge level.
In addition to membership/fund-raising,
www.wguc.org
provides the daily program listing for what is playing in the next five minutes
or the next five hours. Site visitors can select a composer for more
information on that artist or others from the same era, or link to a site where
classical CDs may be purchased. Visitors may listen to the live broadcast
through online streaming audio.
